Classic Microblading

Just natural hair-like strokes

Classic microblading is very natural and has more touchups, but is not suitable for all skin types and is not good for coverups.

Ombré Shading

Stylish gradient

Ombré shade microblading is lighter in the beginning of the brow and darker towards the tail for a “makeup” look that’s good for coverups and all skin types with less touchups required.

Combination brows

Hair-like strokes & shading

Combination microblading is a hybrid of hair-like strokes on the front of the eyebrows and shading at the tail for an effortless look— it’s great for added density and that extra “fluff” for a natural makeup.

What are Ombre Brows?

Ombre powder brows, also known as powder brows or shaded brows, are a form of cosmetic tattooing that uses a specialized tool to deposit tiny dots of pigment into the skin. Unlike microblading, which creates hair-like strokes, ombre powder brows achieve a soft, powdered look that gradually fades from dark to light. The result is a beautiful, filled-in brow that mimics the appearance of expertly applied makeup.

This technique is incredibly versatile and can be tailored to your individual preferences, from a soft, natural look to a more defined and dramatic brow. Ombre powder brows are particularly well-suited for individuals with:

  • Sparse or thin brows: Ombre powder brows can add fullness and definition to naturally thin or over-plucked brows.
  • Oily or combination skin: The powdered technique holds up better on oily skin than microblading.
  • Sensitive skin: Ombre powder brows are less invasive than microblading, making them a gentler option for sensitive skin.
  • Anyone seeking a low-maintenance brow solution: Say goodbye to daily brow makeup with ombre powder brows!

The Benefits of Ombre Powder Brows

Ombre powder brows offer a multitude of advantages that make them a popular choice for achieving effortless, beautiful brows:

  • Natural-Looking Results: The gradient effect of ombre powder brows mimics the look of filled-in makeup, creating a natural, yet defined appearance.
  • Long-Lasting: While not entirely permanent, ombre powder brows can last for several years with proper care and touch-ups.
  • Low Maintenance: Wake up with perfect brows every day! Ombre powder brows eliminate the need for daily brow makeup application.
  • Water-Resistant and Smudge-Proof: Enjoy worry-free brows that withstand sweat, water, and smudging.
  • Customizable: Your ombre powder brows can be tailored to your desired shape, thickness, and color intensity, ensuring a perfectly personalized look.
  • Ideal for All Skin Types: Ombre powder brows are suitable for all skin types, including oily and sensitive skin.

Pre and Post-care Instructions

How to prepare for your appointment:

There are a few things you can do to prepare for the procedure:

  1. Avoid Sun Exposure and Tanning – For at least two weeks before your appointment. Having a tan or sunburnt face can ruin the longevity of the application and can make the pigment fade very quickly.
  2. Do not Pick or Tweeze Your Eyebrows – For a minimum of one week before the procedure. You should avoid plucking or tweezing prior to your session. Nonetheless, weeks/months after your session, you should clean up the eyebrows, as microblading does not remove your hair.
  3. Avoid Caffeine and Alcohol – Since these types of beverages can thin your blood, they may cause bleeding during your microblading service, so you would want to avoid these for at least 24 hours before your treatment.
  4. Have Clean and Makeup-Free Skin – While most of us don’t like to leave our houses without looking our best, it’s important you arrive at your appointment with clean skin that is free of makeup, oils, and lotions.
  5. Avoid Working Out and/or Sweating – Since sweating and heat can open up your pores, it is best to avoid the activities 24 hours before the session and up to two weeks after the appointment. This is due to active sweating; other exercises, such as swimming, can cause premature fading.
  6. Avoid Tylenol and other Blood Thinning Medicines – If you are on medication or have a medical condition, you should consult your physician or medical professional before treatment.‍

After Care

After your procedure, it is essential to follow the aftercare instructions provided by Masi. At Masi Beauty Bar, we will provide you with specific and detailed instructions for aftercare during your visits; however, the instructions detailed below are applicable across all services.

  1. Keep the area clean and dry for the first 7 days in the morning and at night. This will help keep the area free from bacteria, buildup of products, oils, and dead skin.
  2. Apply a thin layer of ointment to the area 2-3 times daily for the first week.
  3. Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks, but we recommend 4.
  4. Avoid picking or scratching at the area.
  5. Do not use makeup on the brows for at least 7 days.
  6. Avoid exercise and excessive sweating for at least 2 weeks, but again we recommend 4 weeks.

OMBRE' BROWS FAQ

If you’ve gotten microblading before, you may already know what kind of package you want. However, if you’re new to microblading, you probably still have some questions. Here are some frequently asked questions about microblading.

What is the difference between ombre powder brows and microblading?

Ombre powder brows and microblading are both semi-permanent brow techniques, but they differ in the final look and technique. Microblading creates hair-like strokes for a very natural appearance, while ombre powder brows create a soft, powdered look with a gradient effect. Ombre powder brows are also better suited for oily skin, as they tend to last longer.

How long do ombre powder brows last?

Ombre powder brows typically last 1-3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. Regular touch-ups can help maintain the color and shape.

Does the ombre powder brow procedure hurt?

Most clients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimize any sensation.

How long does it take to heal from ombre powder brows?

The initial healing process takes about 7-10 days. However, the brows will continue to soften and settle in over the next 4-6 weeks.

Can I wear makeup after getting ombre powder brows?

You can wear makeup on other areas of your face, but you’ll need to avoid the brow area during the initial healing process.

Are ombre powder brows suitable for everyone?

While ombre powder brows are suitable for most people, they may not be recommended for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain medical conditions. It’s essential to discuss your medical history with Julia during your consultation.

How do I choose the right brow shape and color for me?

We will work closely with you during the consultation to determine the ideal shape and color that complement your facial features and skin tone.

What if I don't like my ombre powder brows?

While it’s rare, if you’re unhappy with your ombre powder brows after they’ve healed, there are removal options available.
